Very good shoes for experienced runners

It's a toss up between 4 or 5 stars, but I think "love" is a strong word for these shoes. I like them a lot though, as they suit all my needs satisfactorily.I'm a fairly experienced runner, and my races of choice are full and half marathons. When I was starting out, I wore Gel Nimbus 13s, and they are bar-none the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. However, they're a little too heavy for long distances, and I tended to get muscle fatigue in my legs around 10+ miles. I bought the DS Trainer 18 because I read the reviews saying they were lighter than most of the other shoes, but more stable and supportive than a racing flat (DS Racer). I'd say that's a fair assessment. They're definitely lighter than the Gel Nimbus, but not as comfortable. The outer sole is narrower, which requires a truer gait. The inside toe box, however, is no more narrow.Basically, buy these shoes if:You are an experienced runner looking for something light-weight and durable to train and run long distance races.Do not buy if:You are a beginning runner - get the Gel Nimbus or Gel Kayano instead.

DS Trainer returns to its roots

I've been running in DS Trainer for 10 years. Last year's version, DS Trainer 17 was disappointing with a sloppy fit and ride.The DS Trainer 18 has returned to the lean strong tradition and has regained its position as my favorite performance shoe.
