Best ride I ever had from a running shoe.

I am a 25 to 30 mile a week runner, I was a loyal (any) running shoe fan, But decided to give Brooks a shot after my wife was such a fan.... I wear neutral shoes so I thought changing shoes would not be a big deal. So my first pair of Brooks I purchased the Ghost 3,I ran in these for about 6-7 months going through 2 pair seem like a great shoe light and felt great. Then I purchased the update which was the Ghost 4 and I immediately noticed the difference, did not feel the same as the Ghost 3 .... Not to be critical of the Ghost 4 model but, my feet had comformed to the Ghost 3 and the change was noticeable. I decided to look for a couple of pair of the Ghost 3 to buy could not find my size ....I went to a running store to try on different shoes to try and get that feel again of the Ghost 3, after trying on different brands I tried on the Glycerin 9 by Brooks and this was the greatest feeling shoe I had ever tried on...Any avid runner will know what feeling I had because it was almost therapeutic. I know this is my experience and may not translate to anyone else but, if you are looking for the best ride you ever had in a neutral running shoe the Glycerin 9 is the shoe for you. Great Update

I recently retired my Glycerine 8 shoes. While I liked them, I felt that they were a little flat and slowed my foot transition down. All around they were comfortable, but the tongue was too short and it always seemed the laces would cut into the top of my foot because of that.Brooks did a great job in this update. The tongue is longer and thicker removing that specific compliant I had with my 8's. The full length DNA is phenomenal. More cushioning without slowing me down. The slow is more flexible and feels like the traction the soles provide has been improved as well. Only four stars though; I feel like Brooks has a little more they could to perfect the shoe. Maybe making it more breathable and by adding the tongue tied system that is now found on the Ghost 4 and Trance 10.

While I am a recreational runner, I have been pretty serious about it during the past ten years, running three half and three full marathons. I am 56 years old and have been a runner all my life, so my legs are showing a little wear and tear, which means I am extremely interested in finding a cushioned shoe.I have owned running shoes from five major brands across the years, including three pair of a model that has been manufactured for a very long time and thought that I would run in that model until I hung up the shoes for good. Then serendipity led me to the Brooks Glycerine 9. My feet have found a home.This shoe is several quantum leaps above anything else I have ever run in. The cushioning is superb! Not only are my legs spared from the impact, but I can feel the cushioning as I run. Now I do wear an inexpensive cushioning insert that I purchased from Road Runner Sports about five years ago, but the insert is a common denominator to all shoes I have run in since then. This shoe feels like running on marshmallows.I don't know about longevity (miles per pair of shoes) because I have only got about 100 miles on them right now.I recently bought two more pair to put in the closet for when this pair wears out. Highly recommended without reservation.
