Great training shoe as well as race day shoe!!!
By onedatworks
Ok, let's get the annoyance out of the way. Everyone complains about the difference of the tongue on this shoe. I have to say that I don't notice it one bit and do enjoy the soft and well cushioned tongue on this shoe over the light weight one that annoys my foot in my LunarMtrl racer. It's a different shoe, so expect it to wear and feel different.I bought an 11 in the LunarMtrl but in this one I bought a 10 1/2 because I felt I needed to start moving to that exact fit. Not going to grow anymore, I don't think! The feel is great, the insoles come out and make it easy to wash down the road. I've logged about 45 miles since I got this shoe and it's holding up well and you can tell the difference in support and also light weight feel too. The shoe really does grip your foot, and the tread on the shoe makes it really easy to adjust your stride as it flexes with your foot very well. I know I struggle with this and it has helped my stride and comfort on street and on the treadmill. The picture doesn't do the shoe justice, as it is much darker in person than on the screen but to be honest it looks nice. This shoe is also a very breathable shoe, and my feet stay cool in it with the mesh netting on the sides and the breathable lining along all sides. As with all shoes, each pair fits different but this one does not disappoint! I haven't been a Nike fanboy for a long time, but lately they are winning me back. Have this and another pair in my rotation now.

First shoe to give me blisters!
By JT
I had 2 prior Free run +2, but decided to try this +3. Also, I had used a replacement insoles for the +2 which were the "Athlete" insoles I bought at the local shoe shop at the mall. I used to get shin splints alot, but after using the free run +2 together with the athlete insole, I had not gotten shin splint or blisters. I normally get blisters on my feet after a long hike with 70-80 lbs pack, but not really while running with shoes, and I normally run 8-12 miles each times. BUT I have to say the original insoles that came with the +2 and this +3 feel and look cheaply made. I guess I didn't know how cheaply made it was with the +2 because I was using the athlete insole. Now with this +3, I just ran a 9 miler with its original insole. I figured why not give it a try and not have to go buy another athlete insole. Well.. not good. My toes and pinky toe kept getting rubbed on the shoes and got 3 blisters. This +3 is the same size 10M as my previous +2. So, without the athlete insole, my feet wasn't too snug with this +3. I'm disappointed that I will have to spend another $25 for the Athlete insole for this free run +3. Wow, for a Nike brand and expensive shoes, WHY do they make such poorly made insoles with these free run???? I'm giving this a 2 rating because, without the Athlete insole, these free runs are worthless for my feet.

Love these shoes. Most comfortable pair of Nike Free shoes I have ever had! Wish I could get more in different colors.
