Excellent running shoe for the big guy.

I am very pleased with this running shoe. It is definitely must buy if you're a big guy. My weight fluctuates between 207 and 227 depending on whether I am running regularly or not. And at 227, I have a very hard time find a comfortable running shoe. Well, I am 227 now, I the normal problems I have with my shins completely disappeared from the first run in Saucony Men's ProGrid Jazz 13. Now that I have found a decent running shoe for us big guys, I will be running much more and losing the extra pounds. These shoes are very lite. Almost like you're not wearing anything. My previous running shoes, Adidas, felt extremely heavy and unwieldy by comparison. I plan on buying two more pair, because they were very reasonably priced and don't want to have to search through all the shoes available when these wear out. Plus I plan on training for a marathon; so I think consistency would be an advantage.

Nice shoe

Supposed to be a neutral shoe but seems like it might work for a moderate pronator. I supinate and need, at least, a neutral shoe. I also prefer a shoe that isn't too rigid and these are a bit stiff. The heel is shaped like a reversed horseshoe sounds like a horse clopping along too, the heel is a bit on the high side too. Altogether typical decent Saucony construction, durable but not flexible enough for me. Oh well, sometimes you do have to buy in the store if you find anything in the the stores anymore...If you supinate & want cushioning with a more flexible sole then look at the Nike Air Pegasus 26 that worked well for me.Maybe these will soften up a bit after a month or so of walking on concrete surfaces, maybe not...

I have owned (and liked) the cheaper Saucony ProGrid Prestige and Twister models, but they do not come in wide (2E) sizes while the Jazz 13s do.So, I bought a pair of the Jazz 13s. In typical Saucony fashion, fit and comfort are very good and the Jazz 13s are very light ... around 10oz. each. I am 43 years old, 6' 0", 155lbs with a neutral running style, prone to heel strike. I run about 10-12 miles a week in preparation for 5Ks and the Jazz 13s serve as my race-day shoe.Even though the shoes are designed for someone with a high arch, my flat-arch feet are still very comfortable in them and at the end of September I was able to set a 5K personal record while wearing my Jazz 13s.I could have given these shoes 5 stars but I haven't tried enough different shoes and don't want to go crazy recommending these that strongly when I haven't tried much of the competition from Asics, Brooks and Mizuno.
