From here on out I'm a Brooks girl

I've been a jogger/runner/whatever for probably 15 years now. While my mileage isn't exactly hitting the realms of an ultra-marathoner, I still want a shoe that provides ample support and comfort regardless of what conditions I happen to be running in. Previously, I'd worn nothing but Saucony, and they seemed not too shabby. About a year ago I attempted a less known form of footwear, and I regretted it. I ended up in PT for screwing up some multi-syllabic ligament thingy and was told "no running" for at least a few months. To say I was bummed was an understatement. While I slowly got back into it, I could tell that my shoes were partially to blame for my issue.So, this time around I decided that I'd do massive amounts of research on what I specifically needed. It landed me smack dab at the Brooks GTS 12 which was, of course, out of stock. So, I coughed up the extra funds and went with some Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtle-Green-As-All-Get-Out GTS 13s. I've only been running in them for a month but I have noticed a major difference in my ability to stay with my runs without pain. Normally my feet kill and my knees feel like they've been hit with a led pipe. Not with these killers, I feel like I'm running on clouds..supportive nuclear factory glowing green clouds, but clouds nonetheless. Brooks has my love. Legit.

I have flat feet and and a problem with landing on the outside of my heels while running. I had a gait analysis done and it was recommended that switch to the Brooks running shoe. I was surprised with how comfortable they were and during my 5k run I noticed an almost complete absence of fatigue in my quads. The difference in this shoe is not apparent until you reach the distance that fatigue usually sets in and it doesn't. I had my foot measured in the shoe store to determine the right size and I was surprised that I measured at a size larger than normal. I would highly recommend you do the same. I selected a half size larger to allow for foot expansion during the run and I have no complaints. I highly suggest going to a running shoe store with a treadmill and trying them out first. These sneakers so far work better than advertised and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stability control shoe or something with impact resistance.

This is my new "go-to" shoe. Nothing fancy, just a very comfortable shoe for everyday use. I stand and walk much of the day - I am a massage therapist, enjoy cooking, walk the dog a coupla' times a day, have an active 9-year old son ... on my feet a lot. I enjoy the 4E width which lets my foot spread out as I strike the ground. I bought these to replace the new Asics shoes I purchased. The new Asics lacked the comfort/stability of the 21xx series, literally began falling apart at the seams (stitches started to unwind) and just didn't "fit" like the old Asics. Bye bye Asics, hello Brooks!
