Great for walking or hiking, not so much for runners.

These are my third pair of Vibrams, I also have the Bikila and the Jaya. The Bikila's were so fantastic for my 3-5 mile runs but had worn down and I couldn't wait to buy the Speed. Unfortunately the Speed does not live up to big sister Bikila. These shoes seem to offer more support in the arch area and you have more control over how tight they are, but the toe pockets seem to have seems that dig into the toes with each landing during a run. During a walk they were fine but I quickly developed pain and blisters I never got while wearing the Bikilas. But I love Vibrams so if you want a shoe for walking or hiking, maybe biking, these are fine. But runners should stick to Bikila.

Best money ever spent on shoes

I've had my eye on Vibrams for over a year. I tried them on in the stores and found that my foot was too wide to fit in any of the women's styles because the shoes had no tongues. Welp...saw these and knew they would be perfect and they are my favorite shoes now. Folks love looking at my vibrantly blue Vibrams and have tons of questions. These are like going barefoot in strong socks. I run comfortably on gravel and concrete. My feet have lots of room to breathe while still being snugly contained by the shoe. Easy to wash, color doesn't bleed onto the white parts of the shoe or my laundry, dry quickly (in just a few hours sitting on top of the washing machine) and look great with jeans and activewear. I normally take off my shoes when entering the house...but with these - I forget I'm wearing any! While they do take a little getting used to (don't go dancing in them all night the first day you wear them), the adjustment wasn't as bad as I expected. I'm hooked!

The title of these Vibram's is a little misleading. These are a casual shoe, not meant for running. I saw one review that was complaining about these shoes after the individual ran several weeks in these. This is not the intended purpose for this footwear, if you are looking for those shoes go to vibram.com and see which versions are great for that purpose.Onto my thoughts of these shoes. These are possibly the best shoe I have ever owned. They look good on casual Fridays in the office, to going out for drinks with friends. (Just a note: You will get notices with these shoes, so if you do not like talking to strangers, you might want to look at a brand other than vibrams.)These shoes are strongly constructed, just like my other vibrams. Very pleased with this brand overall and especially these shoes.
