Great Ride

I've been in the Army for over 11 years now and have been through my fair share of running shoes. Over the past 5 years or so, I've found that Adidas has been the best fit for me. I currently have a pair of Adidas Adizero Tempo 4's that I have been putting about 10-12 miles a week in. I recently went to try a pair of Tempo 5's but found them to not be anything like the 4's so I decided to put on the Brooks Launch.....LOVE THEM. I've completed about 8 miles in them so far and the extra cushioning is perfect!

great shoe, great price

I am a longtime 25-40 mile/week runner, have been through a lot of light, neutral trainers from Asics, Brooks, New Balance and others. These certainly stack up very well for me, good balance between relatively light weight and sufficient shock absorption for long runs. Of course fit is highly individual - these fit my relatively narrow, tall foot well. Price is good at 90-100$. One caveat to triathletes and minimalists - I wouldn't recommend these for sockless running. Tried it experimentally for a quick 2 miler off the bike and the stitching around the toe box chewed my pinkies bloody. Other than that, a fantastic buy.

Coming from the GTS to the Launch was a bit of a shock. First few days I really hated the Launch. I hated it so much that I got another pair of GTS and relegated the Launch to "maybe I'll wear this when I walk".I'm not sure what was wrong with my first try, because when I tried the Launch again the second time, I found it superior to the GTS. It is a very soft shoe, meaning lots and lots of padding. That is really what I like about it. I really need a soft shoe, mostly running on sidewalks and roads.Now, I hear the Launch is cancelled, maybe uncancelled (as of Dec 2012) and I'm struggling to get another pair before they are all gone. I really love this shoe, when my new pair is dead, I'll switch back the the GTS, which I'm always liked, but not loved.
