Fit Like a Glove
By steven carnine
I know, I know, a bit of a cliche, but then, cliches are useful because they describe a situation EXACTLY. These shoes fit like a pair of fine leather gloves, no, that's not entirely accurate, more like an extra outer layer of skin. Never have I had a pair of leather shoes that felt so natural so quickly. If you haven't worn zero heels before, get used to walking clunky for a while, and plan on getting your cuffs altered so they don't drag on the ground. But any sacrifice made by your pants is more than compensated by how good your feet will feel!

Nice shoes, but questionable quality control
By Ben
These shoes are a great pick for people looking for a comfortable, casual leather shoe with a wide toe box. These are not the type of shoes you would want to wear with a suit, or even nice khakis and a blazer. They may be leather, but they are not formal. As you can see from the picture, the outsole wraps up a bit so it's visible from the side, and the black border between the rubber and leather looks sneaker-ish to me. Vivobarefoot's "V" logo is subtle in raised leather on the side, and more noticeable on the back heel tab, where it's just a black printed overlay.Wearing the shoes will take some getting used to if you're used more rigid, built-up footwear. These have a thin sole, so groundfeel is quite good, and have no real structure to the upper. The heel collar is low compared to other shoes, and that, coupled with the flat, thin sole, might make you notice irregularities in your gait that could bother you for a bit. Stick with it, though, and your feet will strengthen, and you'll learn to love walking in the Legacy's.I ordered two pairs before this one, and returned both because they had some quality issues. On the first pair, the leather had a hard, plastic feel to it. It was so hard it actually stiffened the shoe a bit, and folded uncomfortably when I bent my toes. The second pair had very soft, worn looking, and thin leather on the inside half of one of the shoes. It was noticeably different than its brother on the other foot, and felt like it could fall apart at any second. This last pair is better than the others, but still, has a small patch near the sole where the leather is stretched weirdly, adding a few lines. I'm tired of returning shoes though, so I'm sticking with this pair.I'm giving 4 stars, because while I love the shoes themselves, there is no excuse for the wide variations in build quality. If you're lucky and get a well-made pair, you will love them. If your shoes have some issues, take the time to return them and order some more. Once a good pair arrives, you'll be happy you did.Note: I wear a size 10.5 US in most running shoes, and 43 is just right for me. 44 is definitely too big.

Fantastic but flawed
By Kris
I purchased this shoe to be something that would be accessible everyday; i can use it for semiformal, casual, and athletic endeavors; in this case it's as near to perfect as i've ever had a shoe for. Unfortunately, the build quality isnt perfect, the first time i wore the shoe the sole began splitting off of the upper at the stress point lateral to my toes during flexion. Once it gets a little worse i plan on trying to reglue the sole on myself.
