Aside from looking pretty dang cool, the Men's Salomon XR Crossmax Neutral CS Trail Running Shoes have an amazing array of technical features. Let's start with the upper. A nylon mesh upper receives support and control from synthetic overlays which are tied into the lacing system. But the really unique feature comes from the Climashield forefoot waterproofing, the forefoot and tongue have a waterproof, breathable treatment, but the rest of the shoe does not, increasing its ability to vent. The Sensifit system works to cradle the foot, while the friction free eyelets and the Quicklace system lock it in place. An OrthoLite foam footbed with an EVA heelcup provides step-in comfort as the compression molded triple density EVA midsole sucks up the terrain. Three different Contagrip rubbers make up the outsole, with one specially formulated for snow and ice. Most Comfortable Salomon that I have owned

I've walked/ran in three other pairs of Solomon's and these are the best so far.I got mine from Running Warehouse in SLO. If you live in the area, go to the Warehouse and they will fit you to the right shoe.Excellent service!

I'm not sure if anyone notice but there is no stitching on the upper part of the shoe unlike the other Salomon range in the past and I think it's a good thing as it provide less abrasion contact between the skin and the shoe. Cleaning the muddy Crossmax is also easy as the dirt will come off the shoe without much scrubbing

The shoe was true to size and is extremely comfortable. I run on a concrete trail and my feet are not affected by the impact as they are with my road race shoes. The lacing system is great! They are easy to tighten and they don't become untied.
