What is that you are wearing on your feet?

I am asked by strangers everywhere what it is that I am wearing on my feet. These are a great conversation piece.They are extremely comfortable and give you the feeling of walking around everywhere barefoot without the pain of rocks and sticks stabbing you in the soles of your feet.I have run in these fairly regularly and despite what some say, even after 3 or 4 months of running in them I still haven't gotten used to them completely. I still end up with sore feet or leg muscles about half of the time and the first 1/2 mile of the run I notice the lack of cushion on the bottom of my feet.That being said these are worth every penny for two reasons:1. I no longer get shin splints, even if I alternate between wearing these and wearing my regular shoes.2. The pain in my left knee is completely gone.I am only 24 but have had a pain in my left knee for the last several years that may be tendinitis from years of basketball, cross country and track in school. These shoes have helped alleviate all of that.Anywho who is thinking about purchasing these I would highly recommend it. Maybe start out walking a few miles in them a day for a week or so to break your legs and feet into them first.

I have never bothered to do a review before because I never felt inspired to do one.This however is the best pair of shoes I have ever owned and I want to leave a positive review for this product. I have had these shoes for three years and I have used them for every single workout in that time. I run (indoors and outdoors), do olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, crossfit, gymnastics or climbing at least 3-5 times a week. As I said before I have used a pair of Vibram Five Fingers KSO's exclusively for all those workouts. I'm actually getting a new pair now because my current KSO's are getting kind of beat up. But to be fair the only rips or holes on them have been caused by accidents (I once fell on a jagged rock climbing that caused one of only two tears in the fabric over the course of three years).Pro's-Extreme durability. KSO's will outlast any other workout shoe.-Versatility. You can do pretty much any workout in these. I used to have 3 pairs of workout shoes; running, crossfit and weightlifting shoes. Now I only have KSO's-Light weight.-Portable-Will change the way you run. For the better.-Low price for the quality you are receiving.-Machine washable.Con's-Need to get used to them. This is very important. It will take you at least 3-4 weeks to get used to working out in these shoes. Take it slowly. When I first got them I immediately went out an ran a 5k. I couldn't walk for two weeks afterwards. If you are in good shape when you buy these you will become very frustrated at first because you won't have the same output as you used to. Stick with them and eventually you won't understand how you used to live without them.-Stink. I don't know if it is because you don't wear socks with these or if it is just because mine are 3 years old but boy do these suckers stink. I wash them every week (sometimes twice).-Looks. Get used to random people asking you about your shoes. If you're like me, and just want to be left alone, this presents a problem. My solution was bulking up and getting tattooed. People don't ask me anything anymore.-Size. I'm not sure why but I'm normally a european size 42 but my KSO's are a european size 43 and fit me perfectly. I'm not sure if this is universal but at least be aware that VFF sizing might be a litte off.Verdict: buy these shoes.

Innovative and has its uses; poor construction and warranty

The ProsThe shoes grip well.They allow great feel for the ground.They encourage a natural running style(midfoot or forefoot landing).They get interesting looks.They are lightweight.They make a good workout shoe.The ConsThey can be tricky to put on. (If I wore them more often I think I would get past that.)They don't dry that easily if they get completely wet.The seams separated on one of mine with less than 40 miles on them. Vibram only offers a 90 day warranty, and since you have to start slowly with these, by the time you know there is a problem, it's too late. I wrote them anyway and did not even get the courtesy of a reply.In my opinion, a flexible sole and sufficiently roomy toe box would give you most of the positives of this design without some of the negatives.Expect to feel some stones and such through the sole if you run over them. (Inherent in this type of shoe.)Note that as pointed out by reviewers here and elsewhere online, you need to start with very low mileage and work up.The poor construction and lack of a decent warranty or apparent customer support were a disappointment to me. The shoes are innovative and have their merits, but I would hesitate to recommend them unless and until those things improve.
